College Students

As a high school or college student
(or as a parent of a student)
you may be noticing:

Organizational challenges:

Organizational challenges are common among high school & college students. Balancing coursework, extracurricular activities, and social life can be overwhelming. Poor time management, procrastination, and lack of prioritization are some of the main culprits. However, with proper planning and discipline, these challenges can be overcome.

Time management challenges:

High school and college students often struggle with time management due to poor executive function skills. These challenges can include difficulty prioritizing tasks, procrastination, and poor organization. Without effective time management skills, students may struggle to meet deadlines and achieve academic success.

Academic challenges:

Executive function skills are essential for academic success, but many high school and college students struggle with them. These skills include planning, organization, time management, and self-regulation. When students have difficulty with executive function, they may struggle to complete assignments, meet deadlines, and manage their time effectively. This can lead poor grades, stress, and frustration. It's important for educators and parents to recognize the challenges associated with executive function and provide support and resources to help students develop these skills.

Self-care challenges:

Self-care challenges associated with executive function skills can be particularly difficult for high school and college students. These may include difficulties with planning, organization, time management, and prioritization which can make it hard to establish and maintain healthy self-care habits. Additionally, students may struggle with regulating their emotions and managing stress, which can further impact their ability to engage in self-care activities.

At JAH Consulting, LLC, I know what exceptional customer services means, and I go the extra mile to make sure my clients reach their goals.  I’m so proud to see them on the path toward success. See what my satisfied customers are saying and get in touch with me today.

When my very intelligent and high achieving son reached 11th grade, the increasing demands of school finally caught up with his organization and motivation challenges. His grades started to slip, and since he had never needed much help or support, we as parents didn't know what to do, and nothing we tried was working! Dr. Howard met with him regularly, helped him assess his workload and due dates and put together a manageable action plan to stay on top of his schoolwork. He really appreciated working with a supportive and encouraging adult who was NOT his parent. We appreciated both the academic results, his improvement in mental health, and the decrease in tension in our relationship. Dr. Howard was a lifesaver - her depth of expertise and kind but firm approach helped us get through graduation and beyond, and taught him valuable executive functioning skills as well as perseverance.
